The Merlin-Brower Company,L.L.C.4704 Fite Ct. Stockton, CA 95215 1 O:209.946.37121 M:209.810.67211 E:chays(iamanin-
brower.com
From:Tony McElligott [mailto:tonvmcelliaott.o.ePgmail.com]
Sent:Tuesday,July 30,2019 9:51 AM
To: Hays Casey<CHays@martin-brower.com>;Tony McElligott<tonymcelllaott.D.e@amall.com>
Cc: cliff@westecheauioment.com
Subject: Re: FW:{EXTERNAL}TANK QUOTE-seismic and other items
Hi Casey,Cliff-
I spoke with Cliff this morning, and he said that Westech is the distributor, Liquid Containment is the tank fabricator.
We discussed what Westech's role is in this project(just the tank),and the design details that we'd like incorporated into
the tank,specifically the seismic anchors.
Cliff has sent me an additional drawing where clips are referenced (and the quote showing that the clips are included).
The anchor clips are listed as item 10,but not shown on the drawing. The drawing for the clips is listed as"DWG.
ACB005."
Cliff-I checked LC's web site but could not find this detail-can you get that drawing for mel
What we will need now is the detail, and ideally, shop drawings showing where and how the clips will be attached to the
tank, along with the design loads for the clips/welds.
Casey,as you said to me,we need the anchors on the short sides of the tank so we can get to them to install the
bolts. We need to review Liquid Containment's design to see if the clips are on two sides or four.
For the project as a whole,we will need the following:
Existing tanks closure/removal
1. Closure Application/Closure Plan/FD approval
2. Decommission existing tanks(disconnect piping,drain to drip-dry state)
3. Sell/dispose/store decommissioned tanks.
4. File Closure Report
New tank installation
1. The tank design drawings/cut sheets.
2. Drawing(s)for the shop area showing the installation location and piping runs/piping design.
3. Seismic/flood design of the anchor system (load calculations, bolt specification).
4. Approved building and fire permits from City of Stockton(mechanical, electrical, structural, fire).
5. Contractor or in-house team for tank and anchor installation.
6. Special Inspection oversight of anchor bolt installation.
7. Building department inspections(mechanical,electrical,structural,fire),and sign-offs.
Then, brief update of SPCCP to reflect as-built conditions.
Project complete!
Best regards,
Tony
3
