San Joaquin Street Stockton, California Re: Soil Remediation - 3535 E. Cherokee Road, Stockton, California Dear Ms. Hinson: I represent the owners of the above-mentioned property. As you are aware, the property is currently in a cleanup phase. Apparently, Mr. Mike Infurna of your office is assigned to oversee this cleanup. I write to express my clients' considerable frustration in dealing with your office. My clients have, in good faith, retained a firm to oversee the cleanup. As you are no doubt aware, the cost of such cleanup is extremely prohibitive. When that is compounded by a lack of cooperation from your offices, people tend to get frustrated. I am frustrated. My clients are frustrated. On April 16, 1993, Environmental Science & Engineering sent a fax to your office. The fax detailed certain cleanup work. It solicited comments. On April 19, 1993, Environmental Science & Engineering called you. You were not available. On April 20, 1993, Mr. Infurna responded to Environment Science & Engineering. He indicated that though he had received the fax, it was blurred. He further indicated that he needed a month to schedule a field oversight operation. He explained that he did not receive hard copies of correspondence for two weeks. I find that simply incredible. He stated that he needed one week to look at his mail and one week to review the work plan. Likewise, I find that incredible. He finally stated that he had not received any of the quarterly reports that ESE sent to the County in 1992 . Please tell me what is going on.
