CHEROKEE ROAD <br /> STOCKTON, CA <br /> COUNTY SITE CODE 1800 <br /> ESE PROJECT NO. 6-92-5400 <br /> Dear Mr. Infurna: <br /> The following letter regarding the.subject site is submitted on behalf of our client, Cecchini, <br /> Cecchini, and Giovannoni. On September 18, 1993, our client received a letter from the <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services (County) regarding the subject site. The letter <br /> requested a number of items as follows: <br /> • Quarterly monitoring reports for the subject site in accordance with Title 23 <br /> requirements, including ground water gradient determination; <br /> • A workplan, to be submitted within 90 days, for defining the existing limits of ground <br /> water contamination; and <br /> • Repair of well boxes for two of the wells at the site. <br /> The following discussion is in response to the County's September, 1993 letter. <br /> • Quarterly monitoring was performed for the fourth quarter of 1993 and is scheduled <br /> for four additional quarters in 1994. The latest report, for the fourth quarter of 1993, <br /> includes all required information listed in the County's letter. <br /> • Well boxes were repaired at the site in the fourth quarter of 1993 and documented <br /> in the fourth quarter 1993 monitoring report. <br /> A workplan for defining the existing limits of ground water contamination follows. <br /> Back rg ound <br /> ESE was retained in May of 1990 to investigate the fueling island area to include six <br /> underground gasoline and diesel fuel tanks and associated piping and dispensers. The first <br /> phase of the investigation, completed in June 1990, included drilling fourteen soil borings <br /> to a maximum depth of 50 feet to assess the extent of fuel in the shallow soil.
