Cherokee Rd.
Stockton, CA 95205
San Joaquin County Public Health Services,Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD)has
received and reviewed recent correspondence dated April 14, 1993 as submitted by
Environmental Science & Engineering, Inc. (ESE) and has the following comments.
PHS/EHD approves the cleaning and sampling of monitoring well UST-1 as stated in the
correspondence. Weekly evacuations of water from UST-1 by Mr. Robert Cecchini for the
three month period (one quarter) are acceptable to PHS/EHD. Include documentation for
disposal of all purge water in the quarterly report.
Monitoring wells S1-1, S1-2, and S1-3 shall be monitored on a quarterly basis and shall be
sampled bi-annually with analytical test results for BTEX, TPH as gasoline and diesel and
Chlorinated Hydrocarbons utilizing EPA method 601. The information from these activities
shall be included in the appropriate quarterly monitoring report.
PHS/EHD is concerned that the two domestic wells on site may be impacted by the
contamination documented on site. These two wells should be sampled and the water
analyzed for BTEX, TPH as gasoline and diesel and Chlorinated Hydrocarbons utilizing
EPA method 601. The results of this analysis should be included in the next quarterly
monitoring report. Analytical results of the water from these domestic wells will determine
if further action will be required.
PHS/EHD acknowledges receipt of the quarterly monitoring reports for September 1992 and
December 1992 hand delivered to the site and accepted by Michael Infurna. Please submit
all future quarterly reports to PHS/EHD prior to the next monitoring event. The ability to
remain eligible to receive funds from the Underground Tank Clean-up Fund Program is
partially dependent upon your compliance with PHS/EHD. In addition, failure to comply
with PHS/EHD directives may result in a request for formal enforcement action.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health tare Services 10
