Cherokee Rd.
Stockton, CA
Please be advised that we have reviewed the October 31, 1990
Groundwater Investigation Report submitted by Environmental Science
and Engineering, Incorporated. Soil contamination was detected to
a depth of 80 feet below surface with levels as high as 480 parts
per million (ppm) total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline;
190ppm TPH as diesel; 2300 parts per billion (ppb) benzene;
10, 000ppb toluene; 6,900ppb ethyl benzene; and 25, 000ppb xylene at
a depth of 50 feet below surface. Groundwater contamination is
present beneath this site with levels at 0.33ppm TPH-g; 0.80 TPH-d;
4 . 5ppb benzene; 1.5ppb toluene; 0.7ppb ethyl benzene; and 2. 3ppb
xylene.
ESE, Incorporated has estimated the lateral and vertical extent of
hydrocarbons in the soil from data obtained during the May, 1990
investigation, however, the extent of the hydrocarbon plume in the
groundwater has not been established.
A work plan to remediate the soil contamination and to define the
extent of groundwater contamination should be submitted to San
Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) and to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board (CVRWQCB) by June 17, 1991.
Pursuant to Section 2652 (d) of the Underground Storage Tank
Regulations (California Administrative Code, Title 23, Subchapter
16) a quarterly monitoring report shall be submitted to Public
Health Services, Environmental Health Division and Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) until the
investigation and cleanup of the site is deemed adequate. The
report is to show the:
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services 10
