CHEROKEE ROAD
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95205
Dear Mr. Infurna:
On behalf of Cecchini, Cecchini and Giovannoni, Environmental Science & Engineering Inc.
(ESE) has prepared this letter to request further information regarding the installation of a
new monitoring well at the subject site. The San Joaquin County Public Health Service -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) has requested that a new shallow monitoring
well be installed very near UST-1 in order to evaluate the impact to ground water. The
PHS-EHD letter requests that a workplan should be prepared that includes well construction
details and soil sampling details so that vertical extent conclusions can be supported.
As referenced in the PHS-EHD-letter there are three newly installed shallow monitoring
wells that are located around UST-1. There are also numerous exploratory borings including
UST-1 that characterize fuel hydrocarbons in the subsurface of the fueling facility. ESE
believes that the PHS-EHD request is directed at providing information for use under the
new State Water Resources Control Board guidelines to prioritize LUFT sites and to establish
new corrective action policy at LUFT sites.
ESE respectfully requests a copy of the new prioritization guidelines and corrective action
policy so that an appropriate workplan can be prepared.
Please call me should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
NVI ONM NTAL CIENCE & ENGINEERING, INC.
7
David Blunt
Senior Geologist
cc: Cecchini, Cecchini and Giovannoni
f:SJC20696.ltr
4090 Nelson Avenue,Suite J Concord,CA 94520 Phone(510)685-4053 Fax(510)685-5323
