certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015M;
• Volatile organic compounds (VOCs): BTEX and fuel additives DIPE, ETBE, MTBE,
TAME,TBA, EDB, and 1,2-DCA in accordance with EPA Method 8260B.
• General Minerals(metals;Al,Sb,As,Ba,Be,Ca,Cd,Cr,Co,Cu,Fe,Pb,Mg,Mn,Hg,Mo,
K, Ni, Ag, Na, Se, Tl, W, V, and Zn) by EPA Method 200.8 and Hexachrome by EPA
Method 218.6;
• Metals including antimony, arsenic, bromide, bromate, barium, beryllium, cadmium,
calcium, chromium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, mercury, magnesium, manganese,
molybdenum,nickel,potassium,selenium,silver,sodium,thallium,vanadium,and zinc by
EPA Method 200.8,and hexavalent chromium by EPA Method 218.6/DISTLC/3060A;
• General Minerals(anions: Cl,F,N031SO4, and others)by EPA Method 300.1;
• pH by EPA Method 150.1, specific conductivity by EPA Method 120.1,natural oxidation
demand as chemical oxygen demand(COD)by EPA Method 410.4;
• For water only: oxygen reduction potential(ORP)by SM 2580B,alkalinity by EPA Method
310.1, and total dissolved solids (TDS) by EPA Method 160.1., organic carbon and soil
oxidation demand will be included in the soil analysis by SM (EPA) Method 5220D/
53310B.
The lowest practical reporting and detection limits will be attempted during the course of chemical
and physical analysis for the soil and ground water samples.
In addition, during purging of the wells for ground water sample collection, purge water will be
measured for pH,specific conductivity,temperature,dissolved oxygen(DO),and ORP.Laboratory
reports for soil and ground water analysis,testing methods,laboratory QA/QC reports,and sample
chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report with findings and recommendations.
3.5.2. Ozone BST Laboratory Procedures
The Ozone BST will consist of assessing soil and groundwater samples collected from the 60 to 100
foot saturated zone. For the Ozone BST, a minimum of 2,000 grams (4.4 pounds) of soil and
2,500 milliliters (ml) or 0.66 gallons of the ground water will be required for each evaluation.
However,the analytical laboratory recommends that each set of soil samples consist of four 2-inch
by 6-inch brass sleeves; and each ground water sample consist of 6 liters. The Ozone BST will be
conducted by the laboratory for a total of five days.An ozone generator will be utilized to produce
