v t t
Mike Infurna [EH]
From: William Little [wlittle@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Tuesday, February 15, 2011 10:12 AM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: Cherokee HV SVE
Mr. Mike Infurna;
i
Pilot testing at the site indicates an exothermic reaction. Temperature prior the catalytic cell is
650 degrees, while after the catalytic cell following the destruction of hydrocarbons a rise in
temperature is noted at 1050 degrees. The point of fuel conversion to energy (heat) is at the
catalytic cell, thus a fuel is being burned, indicating TPH-d is being extracted. A gasoline j
hydrocarbon source would have a pre- catalytic cell burn or explosion (T1 would be highest),
thus a long-chain fuel is being extracted/destroyed during the second pilot test.
Diesel fuel has a higher energy density than gasoline: One gallon of diesel contains
approximately 147,000 BTUs of energy, while a gallon of gasoline only has 125,000 BTUs.
This means it takes more gasoline to equal the power output of diesel, making diesel engines
more efficient per gallon of fuel burned..
Thank you in advance for your help,in this matter. Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
William R.
