It was recommended in the letter that "corrective actions be held in abeyance
and the case be closed following completion of the request for no further action." The
EHD has also reviewed the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Clean Up
Fund (CUF) August 18, 2011 site evaluation which recommended that the EHD evaluate
the site for no further action.
The EHD concurs that a No Further Action Request Report (NFAR) should be submitted
and that corrective action should be placed on hold pending NFAR review. In addition,
the EHD requires that groundwater samples be collected from the three drinking water
wells located on and around the site. The groundwater samples collected from the `small'
well, the `large' well, and the off-site water well located at Carl's Restaurant on the
adjacent parcel are to be analyzed for petroleum hydrocarbons and semi-aromatic
volatiles. The laboratory data from these wells is to be in the NFAR due at the EHD in a
timely manner.
If you have any questions, please contact Michael Infurna at (209)468-3454.
Michael J.
