INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Ellis Cecchini of Cecchini, Cecchini and Giovannoni, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this report for field work pertonned at 3535 East <br /> Cherokee Road, Stockton, California, during the third quarter of 1998 Site background was <br /> summarized in the Quarterly Report- March 1998 prepared by AGE <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> Four ground water monitoring wells were purged and sampled on 11 September 1998 Field work <br /> was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services _ Environmental <br /> Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> 21 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES <br /> A Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in five monitoring wells <br /> at the site and in three monitoring wells installed for an unrelated investigation north of the site, <br /> relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water elevation in each well and hydraulic <br /> gradient were determined from these data (Table 1) <br /> After measuring ground water depths, monitoring wells UST-2 through UST-5 were purged usin <br /> g <br /> a Grundfos submersible purge pump Approximately 20 gallons of water were removed from UST-2 <br /> through UST-4, approximately 10 gallons of water was removed from UST-5 (a minimum of three <br /> well volumes for each well) Temperature, pH and conductivity of purged water were measured at <br /> regular intervals during purging using an ICM model 52200 water analyzer Due to ground water <br /> Jbeing above the screened interval in wells UST-2 through UST-4,the pump was maintained near the <br /> surface of ground water to remove the water trapped within the unscreened section of the well The <br /> depth to water was measured during purging to determine drawdown in the well casing The <br /> recorded field data and logs are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored on-site in 55- <br /> gallon DOT-approved drums pending laboratory analyses <br /> 22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Water samples were retrieved from each purged well using new disposable bailers Each sample was <br /> transferred into 40-m1 EPA-approved VOA vials containing 0 5 ml of 18% hydrochloric acid as a <br /> Advanced GcoEnvironmenlal,Inc <br /> ,II <br />
