Cecchuu, Cecchuu, and Grovannoru, Fueling Island <br /> 2.0 13ackgrounnd <br /> 2.R Site settnng <br /> The site is located in east Stockton, Califonua at 3535 East Cherokee Road (site) The <br /> site is at an approxunate elevation of 25 feet above mean sea level and as the topography <br /> of the area is relatively flat (USES, 1968) The site is situated in a commercial distnct <br /> To the north of the site is a truck repair shop, to the east is State Highway 99, and to the <br /> west a truck scale and vacant lot. The Stockton Diverting Canal is approximately 2,200 <br /> feet to the southwest of the site <br /> 2.2 Site History <br /> One well, designated UST-1, and three new wells designated UST-2, UST-3, and UST4 <br /> are located in the fueling island area (Figure 2 - Site Map) Well UST-1 had problems <br /> with infiltration of fuel from the surface and its seal was repaired twice in 1993 The <br /> vault box was repaired in March 1995 An internal scaling cap now secures the well <br /> from surface infiltration <br /> a In October 1992, ESE implemented a quarterly monitoring program that includes the <br /> measurement of ground water elevation and collection of ground water samples from well <br /> UST-1 Ground water recovery from UST-1 began in 1993 as a voluntary interum <br /> remedial measure As of July 1, 1993 the monitoring program also included water level <br /> measurements in three additional ground water monitoring wells (SI-1, SI-2, and SI-3) <br /> locatedto the northern portion of the site and two water supply wells, "large" well and <br /> small, well (see Figure 2 - Site Map) <br /> In an effort to ascertain the size of the potential hydrocarbon plume at UST-1, three new <br /> monitoring wells were installed at the site on April 4, 1995. The three additional <br /> monitoring wells were proposed in a Workplan dated September 19, 1994 by ESE to <br /> further monitor hydrocarbons in ground water beneath the fuel island An addendum to <br /> the Workplan dated January 24, 1995 was prepared to document changes in the location <br /> of the wells per a letter dated December 5, 1994 from Mr Michael Infurna of the <br /> SJCEHD The permit for monitoring well installation approved on March 22, 1995 <br /> f 169254W\gtrly rpt\lqt 96 rpt 2 Environmental Science do Engineering, Inc <br />
