FIELD PROCEDURES <br /> All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California' <br /> Registered Geologist Procedures for the well abandonment, soil sampling, monitoring well' A <br /> installation,well development, ground water sampling, soil removal, feasibility testing, equipment <br /> decontamination and sample shipment are outlined below <br /> 4 1 MONITORING WELL ABANDONMENT _ <br /> Monitoring well UST-1 (Figure 2) will be abandoned utilizing a truck-mounted drill ng equipped <br /> with 10-inch hollow stem augers The well will be over-d'nlled from surface grade to total depth <br /> (approximately 100 feet bsg) The boring will be backfilled to surface grade using Type 1111 portland <br /> neat cement and not more than 6 gallons of water per 94-pound sack of cement <br /> 42 SOIL BORINGS ' <br /> • Ten soil borings will be advanced at the site as part of additional assessment and remediation <br /> feasibility testing Soil borings will be advanced utilizing a truck-mounted drill ng equipped with <br /> either 8 25-inch hollow stem augers or 10-inch hollow stem augers, as appropriate The proposed <br />' borings will be advanced as followings <br /> • Separate soil bonngs to 65 feet bsg and 90 feet bsg spaced at least 5 feet apart to install the <br /> cluster ground water monitoring well, ' <br /> • One soil boring to approximately 75 feet bsg for installation of a ground water extraction <br /> well, <br /> • Four soil borings to approximately 25 feet bsg for installation of SVE wells, and <br /> • Three soil borings to 90 feet bsg for installation of ozone sparge points <br /> 413 SOIL SAMPLING PROCEDURES <br /> The soil borings will be advanced using a truck-mounted drill ng The soil bonngs will be sampled <br /> at five-foot,intervals from 5 feet bsg to the total depth of the boring Relatively undisturbed soil <br /> samples will be collected ahead of the drill bit using a Callformamodified split-spoon sampler fitted <br /> with 2-inch diameter by 6-inch long brass sleeves Upon removal from the sampler, the sample <br /> • sleeves will be separated with a clean knife The exposed ends of the second sleeve will be covered <br /> Advanced GeoEnvi ron mental,Inc <br />
