Box 2009
Sacramento, CA 95201
SUBJECT: Permit Application to Drill Soil Borings and Construct Ground-Water
Monitoring Wells at Delta Truck Sales, Stockton, San Joaquin County,
California
Dear Ms. Reuss:
Enclosed is a permit application, $35.00 permit fee, and a copy of a completed "Contractor
Questionnaire", all submitted to obtain a permit for drilling soil borings and constructing
ground-water monitoring wells at the subject location. The borings will be drilled to assess
the lateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbons and/or other possibly hazardous materials
in the soil surrounding the site of a former surface impoundment. Total depth of the
borings is expected to be approximately 15 feet. The wells will be constructed to assess the
ground water quality and gradient near the site of the former impoundment. Ground water
is expected at approximately 70 feet, so the wells are expected to be drilled to 80 feet.
We would like to schedule drilling as soon as possible. The borings will be drilled first,
they probably can be completed in one day. The wells will be installed one to two weeks
LuL a L' assershig the )vririig 5011 sarnpie analydcai results. Your office shouid already
have a work plan approved by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board.
The soil borings proposed are not included in the work plan, but will be drilled and
sampled similarly to those done in May 1990 near the fuel islands. We believe that this
project does not come under the pilot program because underground storage tanks are not
involved.
597 Center Avenue,Suite 350 Martinez,CA 94553 Phone(415)372-3637 Fax(415)372-3790
Formerly known as Hunter/Gregg,Inc.
