0
Mr. Maurice Benson - 2 - 13 March 2009
Defense Logistics Agency
monitoring well LM146A will provide guard well data for the Banta Road TCE plume.
However, in this table on page 6-27, LM146A is not recommended for sampling. DESJC
should correct this discrepancy in the Final Report.
2. Monitoring well LM016AA is downgradient of underground petroleum storage tank Site 25
and is monitored yearly for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in the diesel range and
TPH in the gasoline range. This well and future monitoring wells at Site 25 should be
monitored quarterly.
3. In Table 6.3-2 on page 6-30 of the Draft Report, monitoring wells LM180A and LM181 B
are identified as compliance wells. However, they are not so designated on Figure 6.3-2.
DESJC should correct this discrepancy in the Final Report.
4. One of the following monitoring well pairs should be designated as Guard Wells because
they are up-gradient of a private water supply well: LM184A and LM185B, or LM186A and
LM187B.
5. Monitoring well LM174AU should be designation as a Guard Well for offsite migration of
dieldrin.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (916) 464-4675, or by email at
jbrownell@waterboards.ca.gov.
James R.
