T41-j . z6.14 a [I , . ni j F" . jr,
for sampling were selected based on proximity to the site and accessibility to the sampling
crew. WCC and DDRW-Tracy personnel performed field verification to check the location
Of the wells selected for sampling. Once all wells were located, DDRW-Tracy personnel
contacted each private well owner and requested permission to sample their well(s). Eleven
of the wells sampled are located downgradient of the site, as shown on Figure 5-1. Two
wells identified as wells 10-D and 10-I on Table 5-1, located upgradient of the site, were also
sampled. Those two wells were sampled based on recommendations by DDRW-Tracy
personnel to satisfy the request of the private well owner.
5.2.0.2. Groundwater samples collected from the 13privately ownedwells were submitted
to ETC for chemical analysis. Each of the private )veils was sampled and analyzed using the
analytical methods indicated on Table 5-2. A 06plicale groundwater sample was collected
from Well 2 (J. Rose) located at 25516 S. bania,Ro`ad; the duplicate sample was identified
as LM 211 on the chain-of-custody sheet submitted to-the laboratory. Included in Appendix
G aree the laboratory data sheets and the Chain-of-custody documentation.
'%iW 5.2.1 Volatile Organic Compounds
5.2.1.1. The results of the VOC analyses performed on the samples collected from the 13
private wells are summarized in Table 5-3. Low levels of carbon tetrachloride were detected
in well 1 (G, Robertson 25080 S.'Ban t1a Road) and well 2 (J. Rose 25516 S. Banta Road) at
concentrations of 0.971 pg/I and 1,99 pg/l (1.96 pg/1 duplicate), respectively. The established
EPA MCL value for carbon tetrachloride is 5 pg/l. Chloroform was detected in well 11 (A,
Pombo 26432'S.,Banta Road) at a concentration of 0.652 pg/1. Chloroform is one of four
trihalomethane compounds that have a combined EPA MCL of 100 pg/1. TCE was detected
above the MCL value"of 5.,p'g/l in wells 2 and 4 at concentrations of 6.2 pg/1 and 6.18 pg/1
(duplicate) and 6.93 pg/1,'respectively. PCE was detected only in well 4 (Raspo AG-2) at
a concentration of 2.42 pgp. No other VOCs (halogenated or aromatic) were detected in any
of the groundwater samples analyzed from the 13 private wells.
5.2.2 Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (Diesel) Analyses
5.2,2.1. Diesel (modified EPA Method 8015) was not detected in any of the samples
collected from the 13 privately owned welts.
QWwso.rtlDrnkw.txra
5-4
M071092Dfl.n
