A portion of
our water transmission pipeline is in the City of Tracy and our alignment takes us south along Bird Road from 11th
Street. Three buried monitoring wells were encountered on the west side of Bird Road, approximately 4,600 linear
feet south of 11th Street.
Per our Feld inspector, George Edwards, wells P2-5 and P2-7 were in direct conflict with our pipeline alignment and
grade. These 1 %_"PVC wells were found capped 6 to 12 inches below the ground surface and appeared to be
abandoned. The wells were cut down approximately 7 to 8 feet(at the bottom of our trench)and abandoned with
sand. Well P2-4 was found at the edge of our trench and measures were taken to protect the 1 '/2"PVC until our
trench was completely backfilled.
Our discussions with the URS field representative, Michael Rauser, confirm that the above actions seem to be
acceptable. Please advise us if any further action is required on our part.
Very truly
/yours,
Dan Schultes
Nolte Associates
West Area CM/RE,Contract#4
Cc: Jay Hesby
Grant Kreisberg
George Otte
6uildinn a....0.4 N AM........
