DTSC's main objective in reviewing this report was to
determine whether DDJC-Tracy's Ground Water Treatment Plant#1 (GWTP#1), has
achieved the performance objectives in removing all detectable concentrations of
Dieldrin, DDD, DDE, DDT, and chlordane from the treatment plant's effluent. During the
fourth quarter of 2003, GWTP#1's effluent exceeded the Aquifer Cleanup Level of 0.05
pg/L for Dieldrin at 0.1 pg/L. Additionally, GWTP#1's effluent exceeded the United
States Environmental Protection Agency's (U.S. EPA) tap water Preliminary
Remediation Goals for DDD, DDE, DDT and chlordane during fourth quarter 2003.
In order for DTSC to concur that GWTP#1 is achieving its performance objectives,
DDJC-Tracy must show its pesticide design is operating as intended through non-
detectable concentrations of pesticides in the plant's effluent. GWTP#1 needs to show
it is meeting or exceeding the design objectives over the next quarter of monitoring.
Once GWTP#1 shows reliable, continuous operation and extraction of pesticides from,
site aquifer, DTSC can concur that the treatment plant has met its design objectives.
® Printed on Recycled Paper
