Further, it is apparent that the remedy is relying
on the asphalt cover to prevent contamination from leaching to groundwater. The current remedy has no
such Institutional Control (IC)in place to preserve this asphalt cover. EPA would like to know what
CERCLA decision document is DLA considering for the documentation of this remedy modification.
Please feel free to contact me at 415-972-3024 if you have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Michael Work
Federal Facility and Site Cleanup Branch
Superfund Division (SFD-8-3)
cc: (See Distribution List)
