3. Figure 2-4: It is unclear whether Figure 2-4 depicts a groundwater depression or a cone
in the northwest part of the figure. It is difficult to determine what the groundwater
feature is due to the lack of labeled groundwater contours and appropriately grouped
wells. If the feature is a depression, the contours are not marked with"teeth"to indicate
this, and if it is a cone, the contours are not labeled with feet msl to indicate the contour
interval. For example,LM135B, 51.09 feet msl, and LM10213, 53.04 feet msl, are within
what appears to be the 53 foot msl contour and should be between the 51 and 52 foot msl
contours and the 53 and 54 foot msl contours, respectively. Please correct and label the
groundwater contours to accurately reflect the groundwater features on the figure, or mark
the wells as not being used to determine groundwater level contours.
4. Tables 3-3 and 3-6: Table 3-3 indicates that at least one of three blank samples was
contaminated with gasoline (3.7 micrograms per liter [ug/L]), toluene (0.625 ug/L) and
total xylenes (0.998 ug/L),but Table 3-6 indicates that only two total xylene sample
results were qualified. Please explain whether non-detects were qualified as a result of the
blank contamination.
2
