Donald Shaul is <br /> If visible contamination is detected , individual samples will be <br /> taken and analysed separately for the parameters listed In <br /> Section III (Decontaminating The Facility) A. A . - b. of the <br /> Closure 'Plan (reference b) . <br /> All laboratory data shall be submitted to the Department of <br /> Health Services and shall include photoa, diagrams of sampling <br /> locations .and complete laboratory analysis. <br /> As identified In flection iii (Decontaminating The Facility) A. 1 , <br /> b. of the Closure Plan (reference b)-, the criteria for <br /> determining contamination shall include analysis for pH and MV, . <br /> The pH will be determined by the Standard Methods for Examination <br /> of Water and Waste Water , 16th Edition, and the MEK shall be <br /> determined by EPA Test Method 8016. <br /> Both Tanks: Per reference c the Contractor shall provide <br /> tarpaulin covers for all open tank pits. The storing and <br /> handling of excavated soil Is identified in reference c, <br /> paragraphs 2.06 and 2.06. Once the removal contract has been <br /> awarded a change order to cover the excavated soli . from Warehouse <br /> 28 and_ Bullding 247 will be negotiated. The methadology for <br /> storing and handling excavated soil can be found at enclosure 1 . <br /> The tank ' looated .st Building 247 is scheduled for .prec'islon <br /> testing pr-ior to excavation. <br /> Prior to backfilling the excavated areas. DDTC will provide the <br /> Department of Health Services the following information: <br /> ia . Analytical results from soil testing. <br /> b. Sampler locations. <br /> C. Locations and photographs of any VI Sual eantsminatlon . <br /> d . Precision test results (Building 247 oniv) . <br /> e . Methods and locations of waste disposal . <br /> f . Statement of proposed type of backfill material to be <br /> used . <br /> Defense Depot Tracy's Underground Tank Removal Contract was <br /> developed well in advance of reference a . The contract is _ <br /> presently under solicitation and includes 13 additional tanks <br /> which are under the jurisdiction of the San Joaquin County Local <br /> Health District. All items listed above , that require <br /> contractual changes, will have to be addressed after awards under <br /> separate negotations. Attempts to change the existing contract <br /> at this point could result in major setbacks since commitment of ' <br /> aperoorlated funds is paramount . <br /> I <br />
