APPLICABLE PUBLICATION: The California Administrative Code, Title 23, Waters, Chapter 3, Water Resources Control Board, Subchapter 16, Under- ground Tank Regulations, shall form a part of this specification. The preceding publication may be obtained by the Contractor from the San Joaquin County Local Health District. 3-02. REFERENCED PARAGRAPHS: The following paragraphs of the preceding appli- cable publication shall be used by the Contractor as a ready reference only. Contractor responsibilities are not limited by the following - references: 3-02.1, Removal of tanks, including all residuals - Article 7, Section 2672 a, b. 3-02.2 Compliance with the directives by the County inspector, for the detection of evidence of soil contamination - Article 4, Section 2648 (V) . 3-02.3 Compliance for the sampling and testing of contaminated soil - Article 7, Section 2672 and Article 4, Section 2645. 3-03. TANK' S PIT PROTECTION FROM RAIN: In addition. to Section 2, Paragraph 2-03, the Contractor, as directed by the Contracting Officer, shall provide tarpaulin cover for all open tank's pit. The Contractor is responsible in determining the weather forecast prior to excavation work. 3-o4. SOII.. SA`SFLIXG AND TESTP'G: The Contractor shall employ the aid of Testing Laboratories in obtaining soil samples and testing for soil chemical con- tents. Testing of soil samples shall be performed by State of California certified soil Testing Laboratories. Listir.; of certified Testing Izbo- ratories maybe obtained by the Contractor from the San Joaquin County Lo- cal Health District. Ali test results must be forwarded to the Con- trating Officer immediately upon completion of test. Table - 1, depicts the number of soil samples to be obtained for testing and the soil chemi- cal contents to be determined. figure - 1 , depicts where soil samples are to -e obtained. 3-05. DIS.CSA_.
