INFORMATION SHEET
LATHROP ACRES SEWER MAINTENANCE DISTRICT
AND WILLIAM W. PHILLIPS
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
Lathrop Acres Sewer Maintenance District operates a sewage treatment facility
located in southwest Lathrop, San Joaquin County. The facility consists of
primary treatment by aeration ponds equipped with floating mechanical aerators
followed by secondary treatment and effluent disposal by evaporation/percolation
ponds. The current operation serves the 600 units within the Lathrop Village home
subdivision and Camino Real Mobile Estates. The proposed requirements are for the
expansion of sewage treatment ponds to accomodate domestic waste from future
development of a 545-unit subdivision.
Order No. 76-237, adopted by the Board 17 December 1976, prescribes requirements
for a domestic waste discharge of 0.158 MGD to sewage treatment ponds. The new
waste discharge requirements allow expansion to sewage ponds and an increased
discharge to 0.348 MGD.
Subsurface geology consists of a cl-a,s#.ra_ta, ap roxi _mately 20 to 30 feet in depth.
Ground water in the area is between 10 an feet below the ground surface.
These requirements have been formulated to protect the beneficial uses of the
ground water and implement the Water Quality Control Plan for the Sacramento-San
Joaquin Delta Basin. A monitoring program is included.
RSJ:dg
1/19/83
