Newly constructed wells <br /> were developed primarily by surging and bailing (well development logs are <br /> provided in Appendix D). Development by further pumping was not performed on <br /> 1 most wells as the driller's pump could not be throttled back enough to stem <br /> dewatering of the wells. During development, Kleinfelder personnel visually <br /> inspected the water produced for clarity and employed field meters to monitor <br /> 1 pH, EC, and temperature. As noted in the development logs, some wells did not <br /> clear up. The decision to stop development was based on (a) stability of the <br /> measured physical parameters, (b) relative improvement in clarity of the <br /> 1 produced water from start to finish, and (c) total volume purged. For disposal <br /> fields and pond areas, the development water and rinseate was spread adjacent <br /> to the well construction site.
