D.1 GROUNDWATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS PLAN (SAP)
' This groundwater sampling and analysis plan (SAP) provides guidance to
individuals responsible for conducting groundwater monitoring and sampling
activities as part of The City of Lathrop's Waste Discharge Requirements and
' Master Reclamation Permit (WDRs) Order No. R5-2006-0094. Water levels and
well-water samples shall be collected from approved monitoring wells using
approved EPA methods, and the results reported quarterly to the RWQCB.
' Monitoring well locations and sampling requirements are discussed below in
section D.2; Table D1 identifies the approved groundwater monitoring wells
' sampled for water level only (WL) and wells sampled for water level and water
quality (WL, A). Quarterly groundwater sample collection, handling, and
sampling procedures are described in section D.3. In section DA, Table D2 lists
the constituents for analysis, sample processing requirements and analytical
methods. Table D2 identifies those analyses specifically required by the
Monitoring and Reporting Program, which the WDRs specify as the minimum
required monitoring.
D.2 Monitoring Well Locations and Sampling Requirements
' Figure D1 shows existing approved monitoring wells, surface drainage courses,
surface water bodies and major physical and man-made features (existing and
' planned) in the Lathrop area. Monitoring wells are separated into two groups;
existing wells which are part of the City of Lathrop's approved groundwater
monitoring network, and existing wells that monitor groundwater conditions in
' potential future expansion areas. Figure D2(a) shows the general locations of the
Mossdale, WRP-1, Eastern Lathrop, and River Islands areas; the locations of
approved groundwater monitoring wells within each of these areas are shown in
Figures D2(b) through D2(e). The well identification numbers and uses of the
currently approved wells are listed below in Table D1. Note that the "use"
' column of Table D1 identifies which approved monitoring network wells are
sampled for groundwater levels only (WL), and which wells are sampled for
groundwater levels and water quality (WL, A).
' D2
