(AGE), on your behalf for
the above-referenced site. By letter dated 30 January 2015, the EHD had directed the submittal
of a work plan to define the petroleum hydrocarbon contamination plume down-gradient of the
southern former underground storage tank (UST) area in Hydrogeologic Unit 2 (HU2), defined
by AGE as extending between approximately thirty-one and seventy-two feet below surface
grade (bsg)
In the Work Plan, AGE proposes to:
• Advance three or four soil probe borings using direct push drill technology to
approximately forty to fifty feet bsg to collect "deep" grab groundwater samples;
• Advance the three soil borings in the landscape between the sidewalk and street on the
west side of South Harrison Street in the City of Stockton right-of-way; three of the
proposed soil borings will be advanced in front of homes at 1235, 1217, and 1215
Harrison Street as illustrated on Figure 2 of the Work Plan and a fourth proposed soil
boring may be advanced approximately fifty feet north of 1215 Harrison Street if field
observations from the initial three proposed soil borings warrant the additional borehole;
• Collect grab groundwater samples using a Geoprobe water sampling assembly driven
four feet into the deeper, water-bearing zone HU2 at approximately fifty feet bsg;
• Analyze grab groundwater samples for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline
(TPH-g); TPH as diesel (TPH-d); benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes
(BTEX); methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary-
amyl methyl ether (TAME), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), tertiary-butyl alcohol (TBA),
ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA);
