Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, March 03, 2015 2:51 PM
To: 'William Little'
Cc: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: RE: 639/655 West Clay Street
Hi Bill,
Nuel Henderson and I have reviewed your recommended changes to the sampling schedule that was directed by this
department by letter dated 30 January 2015 for Knife River at 639/655 Clay Street in Stockton. Your email below
included removing AS-1 and EW-2, and adding MW-813 to the sampling schedule. It also included removing naphthalene
and 1,2-DCA from the analyte list for MW-1, MW-2 and MW-29; and removing MTBE from the analyte list for MW-27
We concur that AS-1 and EW-2 may be removed from the sampling list; however we do not approve adding MW-8B to
the list of wells to be sampled. MW-8B has a history of being non-detect and is not located down-gradient of MW-1 or
MW-2, the two most impacted monitoring wells at this site.
Include the analyses of naphthalene and 1,2-DCA for groundwater collected from MW-1, MW-2 and MW-29.
Remove the analysis of MTBE from MW-27.
The revised sampling schedule is as follows:
• MW-1, MW-2, and MW-29—analyze groundwater samples for TPH-g,TPH-d, BTEX, naphthalene and 1,2-DCA; (if
naphthalene is not detected in the groundwater, it can be omitted from future sampling events.)
• MW-27—analyze groundwater samples for TPH-g and BTEX;
• MW-9, MW-10, MW-11B and MW-28—analyze groundwater samples for MTBE; and
• MW-14B—analyze groundwater samples for MTBE and 1,2-DCA.
Please contact me if you have concerns about the new sampling schedule.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209) 468-9852
Email: vmccartney(q)_sjcehd.com
1
