The USTCF has determined that the
above-referenced case, USTCF Claim No. 8542, does not meet the groundwater criteria of the
Low-threat Underground Storage Tank Closure Policy (LTCP) and has recommended that the
EHD direct the responsible party to define the extent of the groundwater contamination north
(down-gradient) of the site.
To this end, the EHD directs that a work plan be submitted to this agency by 30 April 2015 to
define the petroleum hydrocarbon contamination down-gradient of the southern former
underground storage tank (UST) area, referred to as the former UST No. 3 area. However,
since the monitoring wells associated with this site were last sampled in July 2013, the EHD
directs that the following wells be monitored, sampled, and analyzed for the constituents listed
below within the next thirty days of date of this letter:
• MW-1, MW-2, MW-29 and AS-1 - analyze groundwater samples for total petroleum
hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline (TPH-g); TPH as diesel (TPH-d); benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX); naphthalene and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA);
• MW-27 - analyze groundwater samples for TPH-g, BTEX and methyl tertiary-butyl ether
(MTBE);
• EW-2 -analyze groundwater sample for TPH-g and BTEX;
• MW-9, MW-10, MW-11 B and MW-28 .- analyze groundwater samples for MTBE; and
• MW-14B - analvze groundwater samples for MTBE and 1,2-DCA.
