GROUNDWATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
n
Following the installation of the new monitoring wells, groundwater m itoring and
sampling activities will be conducted at the wells on a quarterly basis fora minimum of
one year (four sampling events); monitoring activities will include recording depth to
groundwater measurements and collection of groundwater samples for Ja&oratory ,.
analysis by a CDPH-ceXtified laboratory for the analytes noted in Section 3.3.1' 4ip,j?► '
3.7. PREPARATION OF REPORT OF FINDINGS
A report documenting the findings of the soil borings, well installations, development
and survey will be prepared following performance of field work and receipt of all
applicable data. Additionally, quarterly reports will be prepared following each
groundwater monitoring event. Each report will include a description of work performed
and the results of the groundwater sampling and analysis. Conclusions and
recommendations will also be included, if applicable for each report. All reports will be in
a format acceptable to the SJCEHD and the CVRWQCB, and will be reviewed and
signed by a California Professional Geologist.
4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of
a California Professional Geologist. Procedures for probe boring advancement, grab
groundwater sampling, boring abandonment, equipment decontamination and sample
handling, pilot soil boring advancement, well installation, well development, well survey
and well sampling are described below.
4.1. SOIL PROBE BORING ADVANCEMENT
w Proposed soil borings will be advanced using a truck mounted AMS Powerprobe 9600
or Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit equipped with 1.25-inch probing rods. The
Powerprobe or other probe advances soil probe borings using a hydraulic hammer to
drive a groundwater sampling tools to specified depths.
4.1.1. Soil Sampling
If the SJCEHD requires collection of soil sam le gtoil samples will be collected at
discreet ive-foot interva s e ween and 50 eet bsg using a 1.45 inch diameter
Geoprobe soil sampling assembly loaded with a two-foot acetate liner. Upon sample
retrieval, a selected portion of the liner will be cut and covered with Teflon sheets,
capped and sealed with tape.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc.
