MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION, DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEY
For the delineation of the southern plume, the pilot boring for well MW-27 will be completed as
single-level ground water monitoring well screened from 40 feet to 60 feet bsg.
For the delineation of the dissolved MTBE plume at the norther UST area, the pilot boring for well
MW-28 will be completed as single-level ground water monitoring well screened from 65 feet to 75
feet bsg.
Following installation, the well will be developed to maximize water flow and minimize the amount
of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing. The top of the newly
installed well casing (well head) will be surveyed by a California-licensed surveyor relative to a
global positioning system (GPS) location and the North American Vertical Datum elevation
benchmark. Procedures for well installation, development and survey are presented in Sections 3.2.
and 3.3., respectively.
2.4. GROUND WATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
Following the installation of the new monitoring well, ground water monitoring and sampling
activities for the newly installed monitoring well will be conducted for two consecutive quarterly
events (two sampling events); and then semi-annual based on the impact to the ground water at the
new wells. Monitoring activities will include recording depth to ground water measurements and
collection of ground water samples for laboratory analysis by a CDPH-certified laboratory for the s
analytes noted in Section 2.2.Ground water sample collection protocols are described in Section 3.4.
Laboratory reports for ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory QA/QC reports and sample
chain of custody documentation will be presented in quarterly reports with findings and
recommendations.
2.5. PREPARATION OF REPORT OF FINDINGS
Following each ground water monitoring event, a ground water monitoring report will be prepared
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
