Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, June 09, 2009 12:56 PM
To: 'Kirk Larson'
Subject: Site at 639 Clay Street, Stockton
Kirk:
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) concurs with the recommendation by the UST
Cleanup Fund that the groundwater treatment system be modified as necessary to achieve water quality
objectives in a timely manner at West Clay Properties located at 639 West Clay Street, Stockton, California. The
EHD is not recommending the expansion of the ozone system currently in operation at the cluster UST area to the
north; however, by letter dated May 19, 2009, the EHD directed the submittal of a feasibility study to identify a
remedial technology capable of mitigating petroleum hydrocarbon contamination in groundwater in the UST No. 3
area to the south. The feasibility study is due to the EHD by August 20, 2009. It should take approximately a
year from the date of submittal of the feasibility study before a remediation system is operational at this site.
During this time, work plans will be prepared and submitted to our department for approval, pilot studies will
be conducted, and report of findings will be submitted and reviewed by the EHD.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton,California 95202
Phone: (209)468-9852
Fax: (209)468-3433
Email: vmccartney@,,sjcehd.com
6/9/2009
