The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Quarterly Report
-Fourth Quarter 2008, dated February 10, 2009, along with historical data submitted by Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) on your behalf for the above-referenced site. Based on
groundwater analytical results submitted to date, the EHD directs implementation of the following
sampling schedule:
• Semi-annually sample monitoring and extraction wells: MW-1, MW-2, EW-1, EW-2, and
MW-14B;
• Annually sample monitoring wells: MW-9, MW-10, MW-11B, MW-16, MW-21, MW-25,
and MW-26;
• Biennially sample monitoring wells: MW-3, MW-4, MW-5, MW-7, MW-8A, MW-8B,
MW-11A, MW-12A, MW-12B, MW-13A, MW-13B, MW-14A, MW-17, MW-18, MW-
19, and MW-20;
• Discontinue sampling monitoring wells: MW-22, MW-23, and MW-24.
There are two identified regions of contamination at this site, the "cluster underground storage tank
(UST)" area to the north, and the "UST No. 3" area to the south. The EHD directs that samples
collected from wells associated with the northern "cluster USTs" be analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g); benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes
(BTEX); methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA). Analyze
groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells associated with the southern "UST No. 3"
area for TPH quantified as diesel (TPH-d) and tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), in addition to
the above analyses.
Concentrations of TPH-g and MTBE have increased recently in groundwater collected from
MW-14B, screened between sixty-five and seventy feet below surface grade (bsg). TPH-g
concentrations were less than 50 micrograms per liter (µg/L) from December 2002 to February
