AGE proposed installing 10 ozone <br /> injection wells in the area of the northern UST area and performing a 24-week in-situ pilot <br /> study of the ozone sparge system. The Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) <br /> requires a laboratory bench scale study to evaluate the effects.of injecting ozone into the' <br /> aquifer,including identification of all the anticipated chemical reactions, prior to the <br /> approval of injecting the ozone. Although page two of the work plan includes a proposal <br /> for a bench scale study,it has not been approved by the RWQCB. <br /> Therefore, EHD does not approve the work plan for the ozone injection well installation <br /> and the ozone pilot test at this time. You are directed to contact RWQCB and perform a <br /> bench scale study that meets the RWQCB requirements by March 5, 2005.
