i <br /> LV <br /> j%T toL <br /> ASSOCIATE S . 1 NC . <br /> LSUMMARY REPORT <br /> I <br /> SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION <br /> at . <br /> N& S IRRIGATION <br /> 215 WEST MAIN STREET <br /> RIPON, CALIFORNIA <br /> L <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> L This report summarizes procedures and practices utilized b ATC Associates (formerly Smith <br /> Y ( Y <br /> Technology) to investigate potential soil and groundwater contamination associated with the <br /> Lformer underground storage tanks (USTs) located at 215 West Main Street, Ripon, California. <br /> The investigation consisted of drilling two soil borings and collecting soil and groundwater <br /> samples for analysis. <br /> 1.1 Site Location <br /> LThe site is located on the north side of West Main Street and the east side of Locust Avenue in <br /> Ripon, California, as shown on Figure 1. The location is a residential and commercial area. The <br /> site is currently occupied by N&S Irrigation. <br /> 1_2 Site Background and Previous Work <br /> LIn March 1990, one 1,500-gallon unleaded gasoline UST, one unleaded gasoline UST of <br /> unknown size,-and all associated piping and dispensing equipment.were removed and transported <br /> off-site. Laboratory analysis of soil samples collected from beneath the former 1,500-gallon UST k <br /> L location indicated the presence of detectable concentrations total petroleum hydrocarbons. <br /> Discoloration of the soil and a petroleum hydrocarbon odor were noted in the field. After the <br /> tanks were removed, the area of the former tanks was backfilled. Former tank locations are <br /> shown on Figure 2. <br /> F <br /> ATC Associates was retained by Mr. Paul Van Dyken to perform a subsurface investigation at the 1 <br /> site.
