Box 6066
Stockton, CA 95206
Subject: Sarale Farms
16500 W. Clifton Court Road
Stockton, CA 95206
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed
Additional Site Assessment Work Plan (WP), dated 25 March 2009 and Quarterly
Report — First Quarter 2009 (QR), dated 26 May 2009, both prepared by
Advanced GeoEnviron mental, Inc. (AGE) for the above-referenced site. In the
WP, AGE proposed installation of six soil probe borings to assess impacted
groundwater toward the west, south, east and northeast from the known plume
area in the finer grained hydrologic unit 1 (HU1).
Groundwater samples will be collected near the top of the water column at
depths of approximately 15 feet below surface grade (bsg) for laboratory analysis
for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPHg), benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX), fuel oxygenates and lead
scavengers.
The EHD approves the proposed scope of work as necessary and adequate
(H&S 25296.10[c][31) for delineation of impacted groundwater in the shallow
hydrological unit. Submit a well permit application and appropriate fees to the
EHD.
To comply with Resolution 2009-0042, recently adopted by the State Water
Resources Control Board, the well monitoring and sampling frequency is hereby
reduced to the following;
• Semi-annually — MW-1 through MW-4 and MW-11; and
• Annually - MW-5 through MW-10.
Depth to water should be gauged in all wells during each monitoring event. The
EHD will evaluate an alternative sampling frequency if proposed by your
Monitoring Reduction and Work Plan Approval Letter 0709
