Box 6066
Stockton, California 95206
Subject: Sarale Farms
16500 West Clifton Court Road
Stockton, California 95206
Dear Ms. Sarale:
By letter dated 20 October 2011, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(EHD) directed that a sensitive receptor survey report be submitted to this department by 31
December 2011. On 13 December 2011, your consulting firm, Advanced GeoEnvironmental,
Inc. (AGE), informed the EHD that recently collected data confirm that the information has not
changed that was presented in Sensitive Receptor Survey, dated 24 May 2006. With the
knowledge that residents continue to receive drinking water from a domestic well
approximately 314-mile north of the site, the EHD rescinds its directive to submit a sensitive
receptor survey report.
Instead, the EHD directs that a site closure report be submitted to this department that:
I
• Provides an estimate when groundwater will return to water quality goals;
• Includes Table 1 - Checklist of Required Data for No Further Action Requests at
Underground Tank Sites (Appendix A — Reports, Tri-regional Board Staff
Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank
Sites, dated 16 April 2004, published by the California Environmental Protection
Agency Regional Water Quality Control Board Central Valley Region; and
• Includes calculations showing estimates of the current dissolved and adsorbed
contaminant masses of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), benzene
and methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE).
The EHD directs that all monitoring and sampling at this site be suspended while the site is
being considered for closure.
