(AGE) for the above
referenced site. In the WP, AGE proposes to install four additional gro'Undwater
monitoring wells (MW-5 through MW-8) screened in a thick sand unit directly
underlying, the currently existing monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-4) and one
deeper monitoring well (MW-9) to assess for the vertical extent of impacted
groundwater. Proposed monitoring wells,MW-5 through MW-8 are to have a total
depth of approximately 35 feet below surface grade, (b.s.g) and are to be
completed in the sand of.hydrological unit 2 (HU.2). MW-9 is proposed to bottom
at a depth of 60 feet bsg to be completed ,in hydrological unit 4 (HU4). Each well
is proposed to have five-foot screen interval.
The scope of work,. proposed monitoring well locations and analytical regimen
are approved with the following recommendations. The cross sections- and the
CPT boring logs in the third quarter 20015 report show the HU2 sarid unit
generally lying between 22' and 32 feet bsg. EHD recommends that the screens
be placed near the too of the potentially significant contaminant migration
pathway. Based on the occurrence of sand in CPT-2 a.rid CPT--5,, EHD
recommends that the HU4 well be screened at approximately 50 to 55. feet 'bsg.
Soil samples should be collected to
properly place each screen interval within the:
sand zones of interest,
EHD also recommends that representative soil samples, be collected from each
int(DMII of potential interest to analyze for natural organic matter (NOM).and.soil
oxygen demand (SOD) to obtain data useful for evaluating in situ;.oxidation
should that seem"a potentially useful remediation technique at a later time.
