TABLE 6
DISPOSAL PLAN AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE EQUIPMENT
LIST— 40 CFR 112.7(a)(3)(v
Cleanup of oil spills can generate waste materials that would require offsite disposal.
The Facility will characterize wastes and dispose of the materials offsite at appropriate
treatment, storage, or disposal facilities. Below are examples of spill cleanup materials
and their anticipated disposal method and waste characterization:
• Recovered liquids shall be transferred into a 55-gallon drum or other suitable
container, and will be marked/labeled as used oil.
• Rags, booms, spent absorbents and soil contaminated with oil will be
characterized by the Facility and its waste hauler.
Wastes shipped off site as hazardous wastes will be accompanied by a hazardous
waste manifest. Other wastes will be accompanied by appropriate shipping papers.
Depending on the quantity of material spilled and other media involved (such as soil,
water, cleanup materials,) spilled material can be recycled or disposed of at an approved
disposal site.
Solid waste will be temporarily stored on Site. This will be accomplished by utilizing
drums, secure diking, or roll-off boxes. The use of pre-existing containment areas will be
used for spilled materials. If possible, recovered materials will be pumped back into
tanks.
Recovered liquids will be placed in temporary storage utilizing portable tote tanks or
drums. Once containerized, the spilled material will be evaluated to determine if it is fit
for reuse. If there is a lack of storage at the Facility, Owens-Brockway will contract with
an outside vendor to provide containers for use.
All recovered product and mixtures must be disposed in accordance with applicable
federal, state, and local laws.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE EQUIPMENT LIST
Oil Containment Supplies Personal Protective Cleanup Equipment
Equipment
Sorbent pads Hard Hats
Oil sorbent booms Steel-toed boots Skid-mounted pump
Oil sorbent granular media Safety glasses or face 55-gallon drums (empty)
(such as Oil-Dri) shields Squeegees
Tyvek Suits Vacuum
Plant#22-Table 6—Waste Disposal Plan Revised: 7/5/2019
Page 1 of 1
