R&B Trucking
Project No.01-37.1.1
March 27,1990
Page 7
the environmental health of the property. It is recommended that Mr. Barenchi scoop
the worst of these areas up and replace them with clean soil.
The air photographs search did not reveal any other areas of concern or potential
degradation spots. Evidence suggests that R&B Trucking operated with
environmentally safe business practices and has successfully avoided adversely
impacting the property.
6.0 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The analytical data generated by two water sampling events did not indicate
` detectable levels of contamination. This information shows that no petroleum
hydrocarbons are present in the shallow ground water beneath the former underground
storage tank area.
From the soil samples taken during tank closure, only three showed significant levels of
contamination. The subsequent excavation of this contaminated soil appears to have
removed the potential for shallow ground water contamination. The clay sediment just
below the tanks appear to have retained the hydrocarbons and did not contribute to a
further spread from the immediate area.
Based on the information collected for this report,we recommend that no further action
be performed at this site to study the shallow ground water beneath the former
underground storage tank area. Based on visual observations,we see no need for further
action concerning the remaining portions of the property. Therefore,GTI recommends
that the three monitoring wells be properly abandoned according to San Joaquin County
regulations.
