i
'C Stockton 99 Speedway
Preliminary Endangerment Assessment Workplan April 12,2007
.J 3.1.4.3 Hypothetical Outdoor Construction Worker Receptor
Potential exposures for this receptor are expected to occur from working outdoors only. Because this
receptor is not expected to be working in buildings, inhaling chemical vapors while indoors was not
considered a complete and significant exposure pathway for this receptor.
The exposure pathways assumed to be complete and significant for the hypothetical outdoor construction
i worker receptor include:
• Incidental ingestion of soil;
• Dermal contact with soil; and
• Inhalation of dusts/vapors in outdoor air generated from soil.
3.1.4.4 Hypothetical Residential Receptor
{. Potential exposures for this receptor are expected to occur from time spent indoors and outdoors. The
exposure pathways assumed to be complete and significant for the hypothetical residential receptor
include:
Incidental ingestion of soil;
• Dermal contact with soil; and
f
• Inhalation of dusts/vapors in outdoor air generated from soil.
t
3.1.5 Summary of Data Needs
Additional data regarding the presence of COPCs in soil at the Site are needed to.
• Assess the nature and extent of contamination at the Site;
4 . Evaluate the risks posed by contamination at the Site to human health and the environment; and
• Evaluate potential remedial alternatives to mitigate the risks..
This section presents a summary of the additional data needs for each AOC.
Two soil investigations have been conducted at the Site that have included the Debris Fill Area,
Retention Basin Area, and the Racetrack Area. Additional data for the characterization of each AOC are
' identified below:
Debris Fill Area: Investigations by SGI and Kleinfelder have identified the presence of arsenic, cadmium,
and lead in concentrations that exceed their respective CHHSLs. In addition, petroleum hydrocarbons,
and organochlorine pesticides were also detected in samples collected from this area.
