Stockton 99 Speedway
Preliminary Endangerment Assessment Workplan . April 12,2007
or odors. In addition, approximately 20 grams of soil from each sample will be screened in the field for
VOCs using an organic vapor monitor(OVM) equipped with a photo-ionization detector.
As previously described, the results of prior subsurface investigations conducted at the Site indicated the
presence of metals in surface soil. All samples will be analyzed for CAM 17 metals including: Antimony
(Sb); Arsenic (As); Barium (Ba); Beryllium (Be); Cadmium (Cd); Chromium (Cr); Cobalt (Co); Copper
(Cu); Lead (Pb); Mercury (Hg); Molybdenum (Mo); Nickel (Ni); Selenium (Se); Silver (Ag); Thallium (TI);
Vanadium (V); and Zinc (Zn). Additional analyses will be performed for each AOC as described below
and summarized on Table 1.
Debris Fill Area .
This area has the highest concentrations of metals detected at the Site. In addition, TPH was detected in
samples collected in this area. In addition to metals, soil samples will be analyzed for TPH and
organochlorine pesticides.
Racetrack Area
In addition to metals, soil samples collected in this area will be analyzed for TPH, VOCs, and
organochlorine pesticides.
Grandstand Fill Area
The Grandstand Fill Area is located west of the racetrack. This area has been reportedly filled with 2-3
feet of fill obtained from the area located directly west of the Grandstand Area. In addition to metals, soil
samples collected from this area will be analyzed for organochlorine pesticides.
Retention Basin
In addition to metals, soil samples collected from this area will be analyzed for organochlorine pesticides,
TPH, and VOCs.
Parking Lot A Area
In addition to metals, soil samples collected from this area will be analyzed for organochlorine pesticides.
Soil samples will also be collected from this area will also be used to establish background concentration
of metals.
Parking Lot B Area
This area appears to have been filled with 2-3 feet of soil. In addition to metals, soil samples from this
area will be analyzed for organochlorine pesticides.
PFAworkplan.Firsal.da 4-2 The Source Group,Inc.
