I
Stockton 99 Speedway
Preliminary Endangerment Assessment Workplan April 12,2007
5.0 DATA MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING .
5.1 General
This Is section contains information about procedures to be used for managing and reporting data from the
analyses of the samples and use of this data as part of future phases of the project. The data quality
objectives are selected to form a basis for project data management and information. Additional
information regarding data quality, data validation and use of the data are presented in the QAPP,
presented as Appendix B.
f
5.2 Data Management
5.2.1 Data Quality Objectives
Data quality objectives (DQOs) are qualitative and quantitative statements derived from the outputs of the
initial project strategy discussions and steps of the DQO process that:
• Clarify the study objective;
• Define the most appropriate type of data to collect; _
•
Determine the most appropriate conditions from m which to collect the data; and
• Provide guidance on tolerable limits 'on decision errors that will be used as the basis for
establishing the quantity and quality of data needed to support the decision.
The DQOs are then used to develop a scientific and resource-effective data collection design. According
to analysis of historical data and Site conditions, the following conclusions were reached to address the
DQO definition presented above:
• The objective of the PEA is to evaluate the nature and extent of environmental impacts at the
Stockton 99 Speedway;
• Historical data suggest that metals, TPH, VOCs; and organochlorine pesticides are the COP Cs at
the Site;
• This PEA Workplan will be followed to reduce potential decision-making errors.
5.2.2 PEA Data Quality Objective Process
This section presents the data quality process for decisions during the PEA process. The seven DQO
process steps are described with the corresponding PEA information below:
PEAWaWan nW.a) 5-1 The Source Group,Inc.
