' k9 KLEINFELDER <br /> 3.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> City and County boring permits and a County encroachment permit were obtained prior to <br /> advancement of fifteen (15) pushprobe borings (GP-8 through GP-22) and six Cone Penetrometer <br /> Tests (CPTs) on April 18, 2003 Kenko Contractors, Inc reportedly obtained the City <br /> encroachment permits, and Kleinfelder obtained the County boring/encroachment permits Soil and <br /> ' groundwater samples were obtained at GP locations and the soil logs were electronically obtained <br /> from the CPT locations (PT-13 through PT-18) A single soil and water sample were collected from <br /> each of the pushprobe locations and analyzed for petroleum constituents, volatile organic <br /> compounds and total lead per the request of City of Stockton The pushprobe and CPT locations are <br /> referenced on Plates 1 and 2 <br /> ' 31. INTRODUCTION <br /> ' The CPT probes were advanced to assess lithology and trench stability issues only, therefore, the <br /> findings related to the CPT borings will be summarized in a separate report This report documents <br /> ' findings from the last two areas assessed along the proposed pipeline routing, including the Mission <br /> Area (proximity to intersection of Country Club and Mission Road) and Pershing Area (proximity <br /> to intersection of Country Club and Pershing Avenue) These two sites were initially identified by <br /> M San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department Environmental Health Division <br /> (PHS/EHD), as areas in which nearby sites may impact soil and/or groundwater beneath the <br /> proposed pipeline routing Kleinfelder has previously assessed two areas located on the eastern <br /> ' portion of the project including the Shell and Franklin Site Areas The findings of these areas are <br /> documented in two separate reports <br /> ' 32 PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD ACTIVITIES <br /> ' Kleinfelder met with San Joaquin County Public Health Services Department Environmental <br /> Health Division (PHS/EHD), the City of Stockton, and the County of San Joaquin Public Works <br /> regarding soil boring/well and encroachment permitting The PHS/EHD boring permits and a <br /> County encroachment permit were obtained prior to initiating fieldwork The County <br /> encroachment permit had a short time interval and was renewed The City encroachment permit <br /> was reportedly obtained by Kenko Contractors, Inc The boring location was marked in white <br /> paint and Underground Service Alert (USA) was notified by Kenko Contractors Inc , prior to <br /> drilling activities For a copy of the boring and encroachment permits, please refer to Appendix <br /> C <br /> 3 3 ADVANCEMENT OF PUSH PROBES <br /> On Saturday April 18, 2003, six (6) cone penetrometer tests (CPTs), were advanced to maximum <br /> ' - depths ranging from approximately 25 to 40 feet below ground surface (bgs) Four CPTs were <br /> 28699 E01 /ST03R793 Page 3 of 16 <br /> Copynght 2003,Kleinfelder, Inc July 21,2003 <br />
