I would like to introduce myself; <br /> I'm the project manager for ATC(ConocoPhillips environmental consultant)for the site. Beyond writing to introduce <br /> myself, I'm writing to follow-up on a request ATC made in the Quarterly Status Summary Report—Fourth Quarter 2011, <br /> dated January 13, 2012. In that report,ATC recommended the ozone sparge system be.shut-down indefinitely because <br /> the sparge points are all installed in the shallowest water-bearing zone(A-zone);a zone which no longer contains <br /> I <br /> significant concentrations of dissolved-phase petroleum hydrocarbons. <br /> I wanted to let you know that ATC recently observed the ozone conveyance tubing to have deteriorated(the system has <br /> been in operation for over nine years)and ozone is currently leaking from the injection wells(sample photographs <br /> attached);accordingly,ATC is shutting down the ozone sparge system.
