anticipate any grouting need please by advising your techs to
bring a bag or two of cement, a bucket and some sort of
stirring/mixing device with them to this FIRST sampling event. It's
not uncommon to have the grout drop out of the bottom of the
traffic box after installation. This is an unacceptable condition to
which more grout must be added. It's one of the things I look for
after new wells are installed.
the rule I go by.is to have the hardened grout/bentonite seal level
inside the 'lower' half of the traffic box skirt and the PVC casing up
in the 'upper' half of the traffic box. this is for wells NOT
scheduled to be manifolded/added to some remediation trunk
line. wells scheduled for connection later on must at least have an
impermeable seal installed INSIDE the traffic box with the purpose
of inhibiting any liquid that enters the traffic box from migrating
down the borehole.
thanks in advance for your consideration in this matter.
Mike Infurna.
From: Ben Chevlen [ma iIto:ben.chevlen@atcassociates.com]
Sent: Thursday, June 09, 2011 2:21 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: RE: TOC-CP # 5449
MikeāThe well development activities are currently scheduled to be
performed on June 16 and 17 (next Thursday and Friday).
