ate, ' .=1 1 <br /> -gng <br /> a K y.. <br /> 4.4.3 Tailgate SafetX Meetings <br /> A tailgate safety meeting will be conducted at the beginning of each shift or <br /> whenever new employees arrive at the job site once the job commences. The <br /> health and safety considerations for the day's activities will be discussed, <br /> and the necessary protective equipment outlined. The tailgate �dfety meeting <br /> `- will be documented on the Tailgate Safety Meeting Form. <br /> 4.5 SITE MO'IITORING <br /> Periodic monitoring will be conducted, at a minimum, during the initial stages <br /> of any new work activity and until assurances are achieved that indicate <br /> airborne levels of contaminants are below action levels. Work tasks of pri- <br /> mary concern involve the penetration and disturbance of contaminated water- and <br /> soil such as excavation and drilling. The monitoring results will dictate the <br /> selection cmd appropriateness of personal protective equipment. The extent of <br /> monitoring will be based on the suspect contaminants and the activity to be <br /> performed. The H&S Coordinator will be responsible for th s decision based on <br /> input from the Field Supervisor. <br /> 1 <br /> `Y <br /> 4.5.1 Noise Monitoring <br /> All personnel shall wear hearing protection in areas where noise levels exceed <br /> a time-weighted average of 85 dBA for the duration of exposure. Specifically, <br /> hearing protection will be worn around drilling operations. Noise monitoring <br /> may be conducted as necessary by the H&S Coordinator. Monitoring will be <br /> Q ,. <br /> conducted initially with an ANSI Type 2 sound level meter.
