Data should be
added to measured groundwater elevations and
' plotted to establish the fluid potential gradient.
Measured product values should also be plotted on a
base map to summarize product plumes. Due to a
lack of turbulent mixing of fluids, hydrocarbon
plumes should remain as one coherent body.
E. Structures and Utilities Xmpact
The contractor should make an evaluation of the
impact of the product loss incident to both on site
and nearby structures and utilities. Information
generated should be compiled and summarized in the
report. Sewer lines should be checked for
hydrocarbon vapors using an explosion meter. If
product is detected in sewer lines or in ot:ier
facilites outside company property lines, the
company representative should be notified
immediately. Utility lines and summary results
should be plotted on the base map and included in
the report.
1f off-site contaminant sources are identified,
product samples should be collected and analyzed as
discussed in D, above.
F. water Well Usage
rw
The contractor should also document water well
,.., existence and use in the immediate area up to 1/4
mile radius through permit reviews at local and
:tate agencies. Door to door surveys shall only be
undertaken with prior approval of BP Oil.
G. Report Preparation
A Phase I Investigation Reprrt shall be prepared by
the contractor with the following information. (all
maps prepared on a scale suitable for 8-1/2" x 11"
sheet)
- 1. Cover Letter and Executive Summary. This section
should include recommendations for future
activities or monitoring. Recommendations should
include whether recovery or monitoring is
approporaite, and if so, identification of feasible
recovery option and cost estimates.
f
