COMMENTS AND JUSTIFICATION FOR RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> A. Site Description: former auto repair facility <br /> B. Site History- the extent of groundwater contamination is defined. An MTBE <br /> groundwater plume from Country Club Food and Fuel has migrated northwesterly <br /> onto the Sanchez Property. <br /> C. Groundwater Monitoring Summary: strong monitoring history <br /> D. Remediation Summary: groundwater extraction <br /> E. Contaminant Exposure Pathway Evaluation: soil vapor survey is underway <br /> F. Recommendation: <br /> In March 2008, the Fund recommends that the San Joaquin County LOP direct <br /> the Responsible Party to continue to operate the groundwater extraction and <br /> treatment system to maintain hydraulic control of the groundwater plume. <br /> However, it may be prudent to assess and initiate an additional groundwater <br /> treatment technology such as air sparging and vapor recovery to achieve Water <br /> Quality Objectives in a timely manner. The Fund will review this site next year to <br /> track progress. <br /> UPDATED, March 2009, this site has been under investigation or cleanup for <br /> nearly 20 years.
