M
Upgr'adieraw Environmental Gsultants
f {
January 13, 1999
99 JAN 14 AM 11 38
Mr. Michael Infurna
PHS/EHD
P. O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Fourth Quarter 1998 Report
Kwikee Food Mart
2081 Country Club Boulevard
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Infurna:
On behalf of Mr. William-Peters,the Responsible Party for the referenced site,I
am writing to inform you that the main activity that took place during the fourth quarter
of 1998 was the assembly of the necessary paperwork to complete Mr. Peter's application
for inclusion in the State Underground Tank Cleanup Fund. Mr. Peters retained Michael
Drayton&Associates, a Sacramento law firm,to prepare the documents. The application
package was completed in mid-December and it is our understanding that the package has
been sent to Sacramento for review. Mr.Peters is hopeful that his application will Ix-
approved early in the first quarter of 1999 and that shortly thereafter he will be
reimbursed.for the more than$30,000 he has spent thus far. This will enable him to pay
off all remaining accounts from 1998 and renew the investigation. In the next few weeks,
Upgradient will be preparing a new cost estimate to complete the off-site assessmen-:of
groundwater contamination and arranging for an encroachment.permit from the County.
In the meantime,first-quarter groundwater monitoring is currently scheduled for January
18.
Should you have any questions regarding this site, please contact our Valley Springs
office.
Shpelly, -
Victor Cherven, Ph.
