N
3.6 Reporting
Upon completion of all field and laboratory work, Upgradient will prepare a written report
describing the investigation and presenting the findings. The report will include maps and cross
sections to illustrate the subsurface extent of contamination. If the investigation is successful in
completely defining the extent of contamination, the report will be in the form of a Problem
Assessment Report written according to Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
guidelines and will include analysis and recommendations for various remediation alternatives. If
the full extent of the plume cannot be determined during this phase, Upgradient will prepare an
addendum to the work plan to continue the assessment.
4.0 SCHEDULE
Mr. Peters held a meeting with Upgradient Environmental on September 5 to discuss the timing and
scheduling of a number of activities that must be completed at the site. The first step in this process
will be for Mr. Peters to make application to the State Underground Tank Cleanup Fund for
reimbursembent of the costs of assessing the property. While the State Fund is reviewing his
reimbursement application, Mr. Peters plans to remove the UST's from the property. Depending on
the time required by PHS/EHD to review the Tank Closure application, it may be possible to
remove the tanks before the start of the rainy season in late November/early December. Tank
removal could then be coordinated with the fourth quarter groundwater monitoring event.
PHS/EHD has set January 30, 1998 as the deadline for submittal of the fourth quarter report.
Assuming that this work plan is approved by PHS/EHD, that Mr. Peters receives a Letter of
Commitment from the UST Cleanup Fund before the end of 1997, and that Upgradient's cost
estimate to perform the proposed scope of work is pre-approved by the Cleanup Fund, drilling
could take place at the beginning of 1998. If Mr. Peters is required by the Fund to obtain
competitive bids for the work, the investigation would be delayed but could still probably be
completed by the end of the first quarter of 1998.
