'FOURTH QUARTER REPORT
KWIKEE FOODS
2081 Country Club Avenue
Stockton, California
Janvary r`5•, .995
ROS A1Cµ' I
Upgradient Environmental Consultants (Upgradient) has been retained by Mir. Bill Peters of Peters
Check Cashing to continue the assessment of soil and groundwater contamination at the Kwikee
Foods Mart on Country Club Avenue in StocIrton, California. The scope of work was to install
two groundwater monitoring wells to a depth of 30 feet and collect soil and groundwater samples
for laboratory analysis of petroleum hydrocarbons, calculate the groundwater gradient, and present
recommendations regarding future site investigation.
Ty
2.0 3ACiG3'r.Jl ..3 i1Y_:h1 uMN
•4 , .,,.^^[ w ( F --mayy 44 ./_
The project site is located at 2081 Country Club Avenue in west-central Stockton. The location of
the site is shown in Figure 1, and the site facilities are shown in Figure 2. The site is Iocated in a
residential/commercial area, and the local topography is flat. A Chevron gasoline station was
formerly located across Franklin Street from the site, but has been demolished and is presently
undergoing assessment of soil and groundwater contamination resulting from activities at that site.
Groundwater monitoring data at that site indicate that groundwater flow is to the northeast, toward
the Kwikee Foods site, and two monitoring wells have been drilled in Franklin Street near the
Kwikee Foods property line (Figure 2).
A third UST site may have been present on the south side of Country Club opposite the Chevron
station, but no records of the installation or removal of UST's at that site have been located, and
the site is not presently under investigation.
The site is bordered to the north by a one-storey residence. This residence had apparently
experienced a sewer or septic system leak, and sewer water and raw sewage (including human
waste) were seen escaping from the ground near the drill rig during the drilling of one of the wells.
Mr. Infurna noted this situation and reported it to his department.
2.2 2reviious Work
A groundwater monitoring well was installed near the dispenser island in 1990.
